David Andrew Woodhouse – Advisory & Projects

Andrew has over 20 years experience in risk management advisory and futures broking in Australia. He has an in-depth understanding of the Australian grain markets and possesses advanced analytical skills with experience in market evaluation.

Previously, Andrew was a client service manager with FarMarCo Australia where he managed a client portfolio of producers in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

Andrew has a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of New England (UNE) and completed his Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA) majoring in the Treasury stream.

Most recently Andrew completed the cotton classing and testing certificate with the International Cotton Association (ICA) Bremen, Germany and is now able to assist growers with their classing and marketing solutions.

Guy H. Allen – Advisory

Guy’s expansive career in grains and commodities spans three continents of North America, Australia and Asia. He has extensive experience in commodity trading and risk management, supply chain logistics, and commodity analysis; as well as new business development.

Most recently Guy was based in Beijing, China from early 2007 to late 2009 where he was General Manager of Grains for Louis Dreyfus Commodities. While there his responsibilities were on both international and domestic Chinese trading of agricultural commodities. Guy commenced working with Louis Dreyfus in 1988 in Pekin, Illinois, located on the Illinois-Mississippi River system. From there he expanded his experience with trading and operational responsibilities while at locations across the Midwest in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska; as well as in Australia.

While in Australia, Guy went on in 1996 to establish the grain trading division for GrainCorp Operations Ltd. He then established and set up an Australian/Asia Pacific arm for Advance Trading Inc., a company based in Bloomington, Illinois and a leading risk management advisor to producers, commercial traders, consumers and end users; and provides commodity brokering and consultancy services.

During his time in Australia, Guy was a key player in the establishment of Australia’s Trade Rules and Dispute Resolution Rules and is an experienced NACMA (National Australian Commodity Marketing Association) Arbitrator. Guy is a also Licensed Futures Broker (AFSL) and holds Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Guy also maintains interests in grain production and farming activities in both Australia and the U.S.A.

David Wheaton – Grower Broker

With more than 35 years’ experience in Agriculture David focused on grain buying and accumulation with key trading companies on the East Coast of Australia, David has joined Advance Trading Australasia to work with growers.

David is well known by many growers across NSW with a strong history of supporting grain growers with their grain marketing. His market knowledge and experience compliments the existing marketing and analysis expertise within Advance Trading Australasia.

David looks forward to working with growers to achieve better prices from the best buyers in Australia.

Jennifer He – Chinese to English Translator

Jennifer has nearly 20 years experience in English and Chinese translation. In the past few years, she has worked closely with Australian agricultural industry, including Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC), Pulse Australia and Australian Grains Industry Conference (AGIC). She has also worked with some local commercial organisations, such as Riverina Warehousing Solutions.

Jennifer worked as a contractor translator for AchieveGlobal, a leading business consulting company in Shanghai back in 2000. Her work mainly covers the latest research articles from Harvard Business Review. Later on, while working with the education industry, she often worked as conference/seminar interpreter and translator with Australian TAFE institutions (NSW and VIC). She worked with Chinese continuing education advisory group, translating recommendation papers for AusTrade.

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts (English Language Studies) from Shanghai Normal University and a Master of Education degree from Australian Catholic University. She has also studied Advanced Diploma degree in Business (Finance and Accounting), as well as postgraduate courses in Law.

Her interest in various industries enables her to have a good understanding of assigned subjects. Jennifer is well known for quick turn-around, clear and prompt communication with her clients. She is committed to ensuring the translation is true and accurate to the original document.

Tom Wilson - Grain Broker

Tom is an experienced grain trader now bringing his extensive industry knowledge to help improve farm gate prices for our growers. Tom has held trading and management roles at AWB Australia, Quadra Commodities in Geneva Switzerland and Bunge Australia. Tom has nearly two decades of experience trading Australian and International grain markets. Tom’s extensive understanding of domestic and global grain markets allows him to evaluate, interpret and communicate market information and trends adding value to our grower client base. Tom holds a Bachelor of Agriculture from the University of Melbourne and has held a variety of trading roles managing risk across all aspects of the supply chain of a number of commodity portfolios. Tom joined Advance Trading in 2022 and is now based near Benalla in Northeast Victoria.
